Bernina 820 & 830 Troubleshooting

March 18th, 2012

This is related to MyOneThirdAcre only in the sense that it helps in Repair which is one of the 6Rs of Zero Waste.

Here are links I’ve found from owners for particular problems that are not addressed in the Manuals:

Oiling your machine

Bobbin case won’t open, gears jammed

Bobbin Sensor Problems also addresses the issue of worn bobbin sensors (which stop it from working)

I am trying to move the “Selector Lever for plain or ornamental stitch”. It’s for choosing stitch style, and is located on the top of the machine. The lever has numbers to the left of it, ranging from 1 to 20.

The problem is, I can’t get the lever to move. I don’t try to force it for fear of damaging the machine.

Please — someone tell me how to get it to move.
